In september 2017 I visited Snæfellsnes. The journey started in Amsterdam. We flew September 23 – 2017 to Reykjavik and went on adventure in Snæfellsness in the western part of Iceland.
Snæfellsness is known as “Iceland in Miniature”, because many national sights can be found in this area. The Snæfellsjökull volcano, regarded as one of the symbols of Iceland, is one of these sights that can ben found there. With its height of 1446 m, it is the highest mountain on the peninsula and has a glacier at its peak. We saw waterfalls, the amazing Aurora Borealis (Northern Lights), lava fields, andmany more of the beautiful mountainscapes. This peninsula of Iceland is a true GEM OF THE WEST. This trip was led by Madelon Dielen. She did a good job driving us to the many beautiful locations. Not ones she was in a bad mood. Always laughing and supporting the photographers in the group. You can find her website at: www.madelondielen.nl
We had a great time and my fellow photographers were a joy to spend time with. I hope you enjoy my images. The Milk Photo Book I made can be found here: GEM OF THE WEST by Richard Paas
